So I'm in the process of pulling my engine out to do a full rebuild, and the FSM says I need "Engine Hanger No. 2" (page 422 / EG-68). Does anyone have one they want to sell me, or has anyone made their own and have dimensions or a drawing they can send? I'm afraid to call the stealership to see how much they charge for big stamped steel plate.

OK... maybe not for everyone...
but I hate throwing useable things in the trash...

Anyway... bought two li-po's
and they came packaged in a blister pack/card.

So... before throwing those into the trash...
thought I'd see what I could do to use them some more first.

The blister paks aren't scale looking by any means...
I only thought to cover the opening that runs thru
and under the flat bed surface. (looks funky to me)

just a couple expectations for me...

...attempt of PTM to the primary body (failed that)

...assure tires do not rub at full articulation

short of the slight paint mismatch... good enough

mounting is simply replacing the 6 deck screws (3 per side)
those secure that deck to the cage.

I replaced the original deck screws with similarly sized cap bolts and nuts.

For sale is a new, still-in-the-package antenna assembly (the part that goes under the quarter panel, not the antenna mast). Toyota part number 86300-04050. I had ordered this to repair what I thought was an antenna problem, but it turned out to be a radio problem (much easier to swap out a radio than remove a quarter panel with a snorkel in it!).

Has anyone used these wheels or ordered from this company.http://www.davesoffroadsupply.com/Ra...15x8_p_16.html I'm thinking about going with 2.5 inch backspacing because i'm rubbing on the pitman arm and springs with 4 inch backspacing when turning.This is strictly an off road truck so i'm not worried about sticking out past the fenders.

I am looking at building a swing out for my my kuat nv 4 bike rack. The rack weighs in at 80lbs and the average weight of my bikes are 25lbs but my down hill sled tips this scales at 50lbs. I am looking at a worse case scenario of 320lbs of weight on the swing arm, average weight would be about 200lbs. I am planning on using the heavy duty Comp 4x4 pivot by Relentless fabrication welded to 2x3x.125 steel. I am worried about the pivot and the steel being able to hold up to the weight or torque while swung out. Am I rightly worried or am I paranoid? The spindle will be welded I to 2x3 rect tubing and the top will be the same tube in a stacked design.

So roughly how much weight is every one putting on their hinges of their spare tire swing? I would hate to have have my rack bust and end up putting my and my buddies mtb's down on highway.

I broke one of the inner gears on my manual hub (when I broke my first CV :rolleyes: ) and need a new one. Looking around the north end of the front range before I drive down to Jims.

Also might need another one of the outer spindle bushings if someone has both.

I'm deep into the planning suspension geometry and pricing parts phase of a SAS. I've been doing a lot of research on axle parts and I will continue to do so, so if you feel like telling me search that's fine because I am. I'm just looking for a few opinions from the crowd on what you feel the best set up would be and why.

I think this is different from other threads because the center of the axle will remain the same no matter which ends are used. I have a Ruff Stuff housing, driver drop, made for a Toyota 8" diff and that's what I'm choosing to run. It will have a hi-pinion diff with 5.29s, maybe cryoed. I chose this for the drop out third, Toyota parts, and ground clearance with 35-37s.

The most likely plan is to keep it all Toyota and use mini truck outers, but I realized I have a few other options.

Option 1
Toyota mini truck outers
Ball gussets
Marlin 25mm steering kit and arms
FROR Tacoma Brake kit
IFS hub bodies
Longfield shafts
etc.

Option 2
Dana 44 outers
Reid racing or similar Chevy knucles with hi-steer
RCV axles

Option 3
Dana 60 outers
Reid racing or similar Chevy knucles with hi-steer
RCV axles

Option 4
Trail Gear (I know how some of you feel) Rock Assault 9 outers
Unit hubs
RCV axles? :dunno:


Truck has a 2.7L, 5spd, with dual cases (2.28/4.7).
Plan is to run 37s.
Suspension will be a 3 link with panhard.


As I said, I think the Toyota is the most likely option, followed by the Dana 44. I think that Dana 60 outers would be a little over kill. I haven't looked into the 9 option with unit hubs very much, just noticed it would be an option. I'm pretty sure the weak link with any of these setups is going to be the ring and pinion or manual hub gears.

So please feel free to give your opinion.

I just finished my SAS and installed my new driveshaft from Tom Woods, when I lock the hubs and drive in 2wd there is a vibrating noise coming from the axle almost sounds like something hitting something else inside. I have a new Bobby long axle in there and we clearanced it I thought pretty well, does anyone think this could be the noise, 4wd does work fine tho even with noise could it be the hub's? they were brand new from wab fab. should I just pull the whole thing apart again,need some advice.

Hey guys, im looking into replacing my cab bushings cause they are shot and my cab flex's way to much. Im trying to find the cheapiest replacemants, and looking into a poly versus stock rubber..... since they come comes with 12 does that mean 4 for the cab and 8 for the bed?

Good morning! Thanks to the powers that be for giving me a place in here. I just picked up my first Tacoma, so I'm going to need as much info as I can find to make it better. It's an 09 DCSB TRD Sport 4x4 in Black Sand metallic with 121000 miles, and it definitely needs some help before the mods start happening. I'll post some pics on here soon so you can see what I'm working on.

Up for sale is the newer style rack guide and all parts associated with it. I took this out of a used rack that I just put on my truck to replace my rack with 235k on it. The rack had around 90k on it and I used my newer style rack guide in it so this one is up for sale. I'll do $50 shipped anywhere in the US, you would spend over $80 to get all this from anywhere else. This came off a 96 4runner.

Engine was going to go into an MR2 but I could not make it fit. Has only around 1000 miles on it, 2005 tacoma, unopened 100% stock. I paid a premium for this engine on ebay that is so new it had original oil filter and incredibly low miles. Comes with a full harness and ECU that I purchased separately. Missing a few externals - alternator, power steering pump, AC compresor, exhaust manifolds, and starter.
Has been sitting indoors on a rolling stand for years taking up space, needs to go, make offer. Perfect to kickstart a swap into an older pickup!
Open to trades for 2gr-fe motor, milling machine, plasma cutter, Miller Dynasty, possibly other machining or fabrication tools. Possibly open to trades for other cars / trucks, or interested in buying your tacoma with dead motor.
