Default Long Travel CV boots

just put in the 3in OME suspension lift. have been talking to folks and reading up on the cv boot wear. would rather just replace them once. what has been your experience with how long the stock boot will last before they need to be replaced? does anyone know of anyone who has a long travel boot kit for the 05+?

the new boots are weird shaped inside and nobody makes anything better than stock so far. I busted a boot at about 30,000 miles, but I'm harder on shit than the average guy so don't let my mileage be any type of wear indicator.

I just busted my first boot Saturday blazing across a muddy wheat stubble field, I really want to just wrap in in duck tape, but i bought a new boot instead for 43 dollars, 30,082 miles.

well i will pretty much screw myself here, im a little above 60k and no probs usually wheeling a couple times a month and i beat the shit out of the truck. but i usually also clean the cv boots every couple of months or so with rubber care. ill probably be chiming in here again about a busted boot the next time i go wheeling , now that ive said it.

the problem i found is more about not finding just the boot, but you have to buy the whole axel with both boots.. if anyone can direct me to a single boot I need it! I have LT truck with 15k wheeling through whoops at 60mph+ No problems yet.

just go to the dealership and pick up a boot kit, or order one from Shannon. They're only $40 and come with grease, inner and outer boots, and clamps.

Don't forget you need 2 or 3 special tools for the banding clamps, etc. 1 tool doesn't do them all.
