Looking for a short grade 8 threaded rod
I need to find a 6" grade 8 threaded rod that is 3/4"-16. All I can seem to find is 3' in stainless steel, which is way to long and not strong enough. I have some tube adapters to make my LC's rear panhard bar adjustable but I didn't think trying to find a grade 8 threaded rod would be so hard. I know grade 8 3/4-16 threaded rods are out there because this has been done before I just don't know where to get it.

yeah thing was fastenal only carried it in a 3ft length, had to order it and only in a B7 grade which is in the middle of a grade 5 and grade 8. I guess it'll do since I went ahead and ordered it today. Now I just need to find 5 people who need some threaded rod for this same mod.

is your front panhard adjustable? where'd you get the tube adapters? the LX could use some axle centering, too.

McMaster Carr # 98957A409
ASTM A193 Grade B7 Alloy Steel Threaded Rod Plain Finish, 3/4"-16 Thread, 1' Length
In stock at $11.66 Each
OR cut the head of this:
McMaster Carr # 92620A881
Grade 8 Alloy Steel Hex Head Cap Screw Zinc Yellow Pltd, 3/4"-16 Thrd, 6" L, Fully Thrd
In stock at $7.97 per Pack
You would probably be ok with the stud because the problem with Grade 8 is it is too strong for side loads. Remember the rule of thumb for most carbon steels is the strong it is the more brital; it will break instead of yielding.
Good luck!

I've got the Slee Off Road DIY weld in adjuster for the front bar. There is just no other way around it due to the bar being solid. The rear bar being hollow can be made adjustable for about $30. I'll post up over on 'mud after I get my grade 8 bolt and the welding done.
