Default 2012 Colorado Toyota Jamboree 7/20-7/22

2012 Colorado Toyota Jamboree
July 20-22nd 2012
Sponsored by Addicted Off Road

The 2012 Colorado Toyota Jamboree will be held July 20-22, 2012. This year's event is going to be held on private property to better accommodate the large group we expect this year. The property is located near Salida, CO, just south of Buena Vista (address is 14200 CR 193 Salida, CO). There will be signs directing you from the highway to the campsite.

We will be holding the raffle and free BBQ on Saturday night again this year, just like last year. Burgers, Dogs, and other sides will be provided before the raffle begins. Raffle will likely start between 7-8pm. We will also be providing trash service, portable toilets, and firewood this year. The portable toilets and trash cans must be used, the future use of this property depends on how clean we keep it.

Please note that we are staggering start times for trail runs so we can better organize each run to make this work smoother. It’s imperative that we follow this rule this year to abide by the BLM and Forest Service rules for the event. That is why pre-registering is so important. Please helps us to make this event run smoother by doing this.

Please note that YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER for trail runs. Cost for the weekend event is $30/rig.

We cannot accept on-site registration at the trail-head itself. So, if you want to run Holy Cross on Friday, then you must pre-register BEFORE meeting at the trailhead. This is required as we need to keep the group numbers within a certain number.

Pre-registration will be closed Wednesday July 11th.

We will have on-site registration at the property entrance. On-site registration will be $40 per rig. Your registration fee includes use of all facilities at the event including trail runs, camping, trash service, portable toilets, firewood, Saturday's BBQ, and the Raffle. We are NOT trying to make money on this event. In fact, whatever funds are left over after the event will also be donated to Stay the Trail along with all raffle proceeds. Raffle tickets will be 6 tickets for $5 or $1/ticket.

This is a great family event, and we want to keep it that way.

Please send this form and check or money order (amount $30) to:
Addicted Offroad
6344 W. 10th Street
Greeley, CO 80634

For any more information or questions please call or email us

If I'm reading this correctly, $40/rig if you just show up on the day of the event. And $30 if we pre-register? But it says we must pre register for trail runs... so if we didn't pre register for anything and showed up with $40, we could camp there, but not run any trails?

If one were to show up to Holy Cross on Friday without having registered, were you planning on telling them they can't follow you...or were you just going to ignore them on the trail and not spot them? I know you're just trying to get a head count... but I had to give you shit.

Quite honestly, I think I miss the days of this event being slightly smaller and more unorganized.

We have to split into groups of 6 for each trail. BLM & USFS rules. We need a somewhat accurate count of rigs to organize and split into groups. We can't have people just showing up to HC without being registered and expect to be put into a group. We have to have trail leaders & tail gunners for each group.

We won't ignore them. Just trying to comply to BLM & USFS rules.

We're doing the best we can with as large as a group as we had last year. This event has blown up big time over the years. Being unorganized has worked in the past but with the success of this event, it has to be regulated. Just how it goes.

...so send money even though we're not running a trail/bringing a rig? We'll be car-camping in the Suzbaru again this year and $30 is a small price to pay for such a great time; I'm for it.

Have the raffle prizes boxed up and ready for the Colorado Springs folks...

Think I'm going to try and make this. Wife will be at a horse show, so shotgun will be open in my 4Runner if anyone needs a seat.

I'd like to make this. Figured all the runs would be WAY outside the ability of my truck, but I see a surprising number of stocker runs.

Will put it on my calendar!

It will just come down to the axle housing and the alignment shop. I'm going to start the bumper/ carrier this week and the rear axle next week. the front will be here after I'm back from my trip so i can get it under it and with any luck the Shop can get it in to make sure I'm 100% on.

We don't wheel the FJ anymore but after hearing Marlin towed with one to TX i may just throw a trailer on it and Tow my truck down.

I towed my 82 PU with my FJ. It's definitely doable.

So what am I to expect and what are some tips. My buddy doesn't look like he's getting his dually sold so I may have that to use which would be awesome. With my new amazing mpg it's pointless to drive the truck. If the fj or dually do 16+ I will be in good shape

I had a 6 speed in mine which made it nice holding gears longer and for engine braking. It was by no means quick but it did the job. That 4.0l did fine, just don't expect fast acceleration. I was only averaging 23ish with my fj on the highway, no idea what it did with the trailer. Pulling with a Powerstroke is much better, which is what I'll be doing lol

This sounds like fun, I might check it out! A lot of the trails on the list are on my "to do" list.

Icehorse--saw you/your Tacoma in Fort Collins on Tuesday driving north on Taft (Taft/LaPorte). Small world!

I was in a company car--not my white FJ.
