Default rifle range road, monte vista/ del norte co

So my step-dad mentioned that they opened up some for wheeling, so I'm down here this weekend and went out there, and think little moab in co, from what i saw its almost like a offroad park there is stuff for stock stuff or buggies i have some pics i need to upload and I'll post them up, i googled it and there are some articles about the trail

Interesting! I remember seeing that CO4x4 report years ago. Is Rifle Range Road a legit area to wheel? I've never seen anything about this area except for your post and that CO4x4 trip report. Looks like fun for sure! Is it more single obstacles spread around or is it a trail?

Thanks for the info!

There where no signs except where you werent aloud to go, there was a trail kinda, but ya a lot of single obstacles, and a lot of off shoot trail, i didnt get to explore much, but i did go back on sunday and got these pics and a couple videos. So really its like a giant wheeling playground

Thanks for the reply. So how do I get there? Reading the CO4x4 thread, I couldn't find it on Google Maps.

So if your coming from monte vista on hwy 160 heading towards del norte you'll pass co rd 27a on right and before you get to W Co rd 5 n on your right, there is a road on the left if your looking on google maps look for the gun range you'll see some buildings/structures, the roof is purple on my phones google maps, thats the rifle range (private club), then follow co4x4 directions from there but you'll see the trail in the valley
