Miller Jeep Trail

Miller Jeep Trail is located off Interstate 5 about an hour's drive north of Los Angeles. It is quite short -- only three miles, but to get there you first have to take the much longer Lockwood Mountain Trail, which winds over several mountain ridges taking you from the Lockwood Valley to Lockwood Flat. Then the Miller Trail takes you straight up the side of Alamo Mountain. Most of the trails around LA are made up of rocks and shrubs, but this trail takes you up amongst the trees through the Los Padres National Forest.

The trail covers a lot of ground. You will go up and down the local mountains a few times before you make the final ascent. The final ascent up Alamo Mtn is the most difficlut section of the trail. It gets steep, loose and rocky with some potential for hitting the low points and rocker panels on stock rigs pretty hard.

Vehicle Minimum Requirements: 4WD, sliders/skids, tow points, 31" tires w/locker

Stock rigs should anticipate some scrapes and bruises.

Meet Time: 9:00 am

Total time on the trail varies by group size, but 4-6hrs is typical. We will be stopping briefly for a lunch break. It'll be very warm so pack a few extra bottles of water. Please be advised that TTORA So-Cal neither permits nor condones the consumption of alcohol while on any trail. This includes passengers as well.

I regret to say...I won't be making it on this one. LPNF is a beautiful area. Haven't done Miller Jeep trail before...but I have been up there a few times on the bike.

Were in for that run. Just waiting on some rear shocks ordered from All Pro. Looks like the Fox Shocks are on back order but we should have them by the trip. This will be almost a local run for us.

Good morning guys, my truck is 2003 extra cab model and well my dad and my brother both want to come on this trip, the only prtoblem is my back seat is tiny, was wondering if anyone of you guys is hitting the trail solo and wouldn't mind any company? I understand completely if this is something you guys are not comfertable with, i just promised my brother id ask. thanks.

I'm not going on this run but in Calico some guy rode with me and he wasn't even part of the forum. He just wanted to see how Tacoma's handled for his future purchase. I guess it would be up to each individual.

Haha. Well tyler asked if he could ride with me so assuming he was a ttora members friend I didn't mind. It wasn't until he was in my truck when I started asking questions. Plus I had my son in my truck so it threw me off but he was cool. I had my knife in my cargo pocket and I was ready to stab a bitch if necessary.

He was a friend of one of the other people at the Calico run. It wasn't some random stranger. I talked to him a bunch at the drivers meeting. Besides, Johnnie could easily take him.
