Well, I wanted to post my first steps toward getting BladeRunner on the road and then on to the trail...:driving: (suky pics.. sorry, they will get better)
My cousin and I pulled the head up off the block tonight.
Didn't get it completely off due to the fact I need some sleep, a little too much vodka was flowing.... but its a start.
Looks like the head gasket is blown at the 3rd cylinder back from the front. Its awfully clean compared to the other 3 pistons.
The timing chain has alot of slack, so its getting replaced for sure.
I climbed underneath to have a look, and found a pretty bad leak on the brake line above transfer case. That will need to be repaired in a hurry.
I'm sure the further in I get, the more I will find.
So, now the journey has started, and I couldn't be more excited....and with a little help from my friends, we will finish it up with a SAS. :saw: :welder: :dancing: :aahg:
Looks good James. What's going to happen when you snap an axle on it out a BVORR? Your Taco isn't going to be able to pull it back.
Reminds me of mine. Your's has a better body but mine has a new engine, trans, clutch and brake job. This week/weekend mine is getting a 3" lift, sliders and 33s.

sweet..... I already have someone who is willing to sell me his trail armor (all MC and brand new). I just need to wait to see how much $$$ the engine is going to cost to get up and running good.
Let me get the head back on it, and we will make it happen. :saw: :welder: You have one at the ranch? If so, I know where a liquor store is that sells Crown.
I need to come out to the ranch and find a couple parts for the head. It is missing a couple of the sleeves on the head where the rocker arms attach to the head.
Also a gasket that goes to lower egr to head. Triangle in shape.
Saturday, I sanded the new MC gear and prepped it for repainting...(pics taken after paint)
I wasn't too fond of the glossy black that was on them... wanted a more dull finish, so I sprayed them with black satin.... Sorry about the terrible pics... need a new camera.
Took the front bumper off, to get ready to install front bumper... I need to order the front frame brace though.
Got her running this evening, but couldn't stop a water leak at this spot where the heater hose starts.
Tomorrow I plan on adjusting the valves after I get the water leak repaired.
I dont want to over heat it before I get it on the road.
