Default weltz99 99 reg cab

My first taco was a 97 reg cab with 170k miles on it and loved it until my frame had serious issues.

Then toyota bought it back and this is what they got.

With the money I paid the 97 off and bought a 99 with 139k miles and bald tires.

The picture is from the for sale ad.

After doing some light wheeling I blew out one of my baled tires and decided I needed some better tires. At the time my brother had a set of 31x10.5 BFG a/t for 50 bucks. After installing the tires I picked up a set of Wab fab disconnect sway bars links.

Then the truck got debadged and painted the door handlesblack.

I started work on the rear bumper. This was my first time doing fab work. I wanted a simple but effective bumper. The bumper is made out of 1/8 inch plating which ties into 1/4 inch frame mounts. I also tied the hitch into a 2x2x1/4 inch square tubing that is ties into the 1/4 inch frame mounts.

After doing the rear bumper I wanted to get a front. The rear took longer than I wanted to, after looking around I found a used Bentup non-winch bumper for the front for 150 bucks so I jumped on the deal. surprisingly it was in good shape just needed some fresh paint.

After I installed the bumper, it was time to get the trucks chrome off so I went ahead and painted the grill. I only did the chrome parts of it so it will still have a dark contrast to it. I painted it with kyrlon satin black.

This winter I'm not doing much put some fog lights on the other day and i hope I can get rid of my plastic job/toolbox for a black diamond plate. But I don't have much money being in college and all. I'll get some pics of the lights up when I borrow my buddy's camera.

Mods for next summer (hopefully get all of them finished):
-EMU lift front and rear with 882's.
-33x10.5x15r BFG KM2's on procomp series 8069 black wheels.
-Get rid of the bent up crappy skids and Custom Build new skid plates.
-Build some sliders using the "hybrid" mounting idea.
-High clearance the box and extend the rear bumper around.
-Might get rid of the carpet depending how much it bugs me this year.
-Try to find a good deal to do a trd rear end swap.
-and of course more custom pin striping and body work. LOL

Havent updated in a while....done a lot of things since winter.

did a lift finally...bilsteins all around with dakar leafs in the rear

Before:

Some of the goodies:

After the lift with 31's cause my tires didnt come in for another week:

When I got my tires

Some wheelin with the goodies installed:

Well I was on craigs list one day and saw a set of tacoma doors black complete for 50 bucks so I said what the hell I could use some half doors.

taped out lines I wanted to cut...

Finally got the hinges and my doors weren't done so I went doorless until the doors were finished...

I finished the doors just in time...(2 weeks before I had to go back to school)

Dont really have any good pics of them:

Got some ammo cans I need to mount up here in a couple weeks and then Im working on the sliders
