Default New front bumper

Here's my project I've been working on to get back into fab work. I designed it to fit up to most 9k lb winches. Stick out from the grill is 3.25", I think stock was 3". I don't have a winch yet so I'm waiting to cut the fairlead hole, etc. I'm going to spray it with bedliner at that point. Weight is around 100-125 lbs.

I don't like bug deflectors, but the bumper looks great! Are you going to extend a skid plate on the bottom?

Thanks guys. I cut the stock crossmember off and put in a new 2x3 one. So now the mounting surface is 2" higher than stock. I'm going to get a plate of 3/16" and have someone break it. I bolted the stock one on for the meantime. I need to build skids for the front diff and t-case too. The one under the diff already has an impression in it.

As soon as I can get some access to a tubing bender I'm going to add hoops to match the grill and headlights. I just haven't been able to convince the wife of another grand for a bender setup.

I like it a lot! It's going to look better with skids and hoops. Nice work.

I wish I could find a front bumper like this one or the All Pro Plate and yet have it be made out of aluminum / steel. I am not keen on the heavy weight, I just want the better approach angle. I know Code 4x4 in Rifle would do it like he did for Lou Dawson's rig, but that was very expensive.

Might have to make one my self...

It is a little on the heavy side, but that's cause I grabbed 3/8" plate thinking it was 1/4" for the bottom, front and side peices for the winch tray. So some weight could be shed there by using 1/4".

If I wanted a winch bumper, I would seriously consider incorporating a 2'' receiver hitch and use a winch cradle. That way you could put it in front or rear.

What bender are you going with?

Bad Ass Fab that came out great. I have seen the bumper in the build process he makes a great product. Solid as hell with some skillful welds.

Are you going to put some light tabs on the hoops?

Now you need to start designing that high clearance rear and have a package group to sell.

Probably going to go with one of the stand up benders so I don't have to mount it to the floor. I saw one on here or pirate not too long ago that looked decent. Uses ProTools dies I believe.

I'll either do light tabs on the hoops or off the top tube. Rear bumper is going to have to wait until after the move, again. Hopefully in the next six months or so.

Hey fabjunkie, do you have any pics of the whole truck? My build is pretty close to yours. Awesome work on the bumper, I like those sliders too.
