Default Colorado Toyota Jamboree July 29-31

Colorado Toyota Jamboree 2011
July 29th, 30th, and 31st
Buena Vista, Colorado

Sponsored by:

Addicted Off Road has always supported the Colorado 4Runner Jamboree's the last 3 years with some killer raffle items in the past. This year is no exception! The name of this premiere Colorado event has also changed to avoid some confusion. All Toyota makes and models are welcome!

Camping:
We will camp in the National Forest area of FourMile Travel Management area, just east of the town of Buena Vista. Our campsite is huge, and plenty big to hold 50-60 rigs plus tow rigs and trailers.

Four Mile camping map
Four Mile CO4RJ map.pdf

We will place some signs to the entrance of County Road 305 and 315 to help guide you to the campsite. Our campsite will be between 315 and 305 on 376. There will be signs and a large Addicted Offroad banner at camp. It is very easy to find.

We recommend using 305 to head up if you are towing.

Trails:
Here is a list of the trails located near the Buena Vista area.
Boulder Mountain (Stocker friendly)
BV Carnage
Chinaman Gulch
Grizzly Lake (Stocker friendly except for the first big ledge, might need a pull)
Hancock Pass (Stocker friendly)
Holy Cross
Iron Chest
Lost Canyon (Stocker friendly)
Mount Antero (Stocker friendly)
Mount Princeton
Pomeroy Lakes (Stocker friendly)
Tincup Pass (Stocker friendly)
Wheeler Lake
Williams Pass (Stocker friendly but only open Aug 1st-31st)

Trail Schedule:
There is no official trail schedule. Everyone gathers around the campfire the night before and talks about what trails they want to run the next day or forms trail runs on this thread. This process makes you talk to other Toyota owners to find out what kind of rig they have & what trails they like to run. The groups gather at camp in the morning and take off from there.

We normally have 2-3 different groups of trucks on different trails each day of the Jambo. There will be stocker/close to stocker groups, mildly built groups, and hardcore groups running trails.

We will be running Holy Cross for sure on Friday, July 29th to avoid the normal weekend traffic that Holy Cross is known for. Other than that, it's wide open!

Raffle:
Each Toyota owner that brings a rig will receive 1 raffle ticket. Additional tickets can be bought for $1/ea or 6 tickets for $5. All the proceeds will be donated to "Stay the Trail"

I am planning to make it, with sliders installed. No more rocker damage!

What time are you running Holy Cross?

Map of where camp will be this year. You may need to zoom in a frame or two. GPS Coords are there as well.

I'm hoping to make this since I missed the takeover. Depends on when I am picking up two freinds in Durango who are doing the Colorado trail. If it doesn't fall that weekend then I was planning on making it.

For what it's worth... Sounds like there's been decent melt up at HC, but the exit road sounds screwed.

I already asked for that weekend off for work so I should be there provided there are no major problems driving there like last year.

For the guys that show up Thursday night at camp, we all usually caravan to Holy Cross Friday morning. We try to get to the trailhead by 9 like Scotty said. There's also a large group that meets us at the trailhead Friday morning.

Thanks for the link. The exit road was washed out pretty good last year as well but not like what is being reported this year. Crazy!

Your truck has gone quite the transformation from last year at this time Make sure you bring a tarp to sleep on under the truck

Hoping to have time off work for Friday, but if not we'll go for Saturday to watch carnage... on Carnage. Nobody flip this year.

Cool, be good to hang you with guys again. My wife and fam are coming this time so at least your wife should have a few more women to hang with.

Chaffee County NF & BLM land is still under a Stage 2 fire ban. Cross your fingers for some heavy rain in the BV area the next couple of weeks so we can have a campfire during the Jambo.

I can tell you EXACTLY what happened. He had 2 tires on the snow ledge, and then 1 slipped off. Ask me how I know...
