Question Leaf springs

I am going to do a slight performance lift on my 97 Tacoma 4WD for the desert and trails. It has the stock coilovers and springs, right now, but I am going to get the Icon Coilovers and want to get Deaver springs for the rear. Deaver only has an add-a-leaf 1.5" lift available for my truck, but they have a full leaf replacement for the '98-'04 which is 1.5" lift, also. What's the difference between the '95.5-'97 and the '98-'04 springs and will the '98-'04 springs work on my truck with modification (I'm sure it will) and if so, is it worth the extra cost of the full leafs over the add-a-leafs and the effort of the modification to make the springs fit or should I just stick with the add-a-leafs? I think my OEM springs might need replacing, anyways.

A full leaf pak is always better then adding extra leafs to an oem leaf pak

Besides... after you've worn the new stuff out... ( will happen )
Deaver could assist you in renewing your spring paks, as well,
include refinements/adjustments... for a modest fee of course.
Not so with the oem leaf pak and aal design.
Tho' the aal's are supported by Deaver...
the oem leaf assembly is not.

95,5 - '97 are a shorter spring pack
and will not swap with the '98' - '04 tacomas

so... no

I knew they wouldn't swap. So, mine are shorter from eye to eye? Will relocating the hangers on my truck to fit the 98-04 leafs do the trick and is that worth doing?

I have a set of custom Deaver springs on my 95 Tacoma. They will build custom springs if you don't want to switch to the 98-04 length packs.

Thanks, I'll check into that. But, I'm kinda thinking, too of just going ahead and get the 98-04 packs, because if my truck dies, I want to get either a 98, 99 or 2000 Tacoma and I'll be able to put it on that. It just depends on how much work it'll be to mod for the springs to fit my truck.

You will have to weld new spring pirches on the truck.

What about the Wheeler's Off Road Alcan packs for the 95.5-97 Tacoma's? They're 2.5" in an unloaded truck, but with a big rear bumper, shell, high lift, tools, etc. they'll drop down 1-1.5"

The All-pro has a nice pack for the price. I am very happy with mine so far.

I looked into those, but I think I would rather have Deavers.

If you thinking about relocating your hangers anyway go ahead and look into converting to chevy springs. They are longer than the 98-04 springs also and flex really well. Not to mention they are cheap as hell and easy to replace.

I've got a set waiting for me to get off my ass and do the

I've bought 2 sets this last set I just bought is in better shape and I only paid $20.00 for them....
