Default my new project

http://photobucket.com/albums/c197/s...stang%20Cobra/

Now that I have the new job, I have decided on a new project. First and formost, I am keeping my tacoma, although I am adding this pony to my stable as it were.

This 96 Mustang Cobra (realy a gt with cobra body kit and some emblems) convertable belongs to the grandson of my former boss and mentor. His grandson bought this car just just after the hurricane though it was not damaged then, shortly after he bought it, he was run off the road and the car was damaged from contacting the ditch.
then after he parked it, some "friends" cut through the rag top and unlocked the car and stole the sterio equipt and left it exposed to the weather for a could of days until the guy found out and put the tarp over the car.

I am getting this for a great price and should only need about $1500-$2000 to put it back to proper condition.
he has already bought some of the parts that need to be replaced, but with his work schedule, has decided that the project is not worth his time.

With my new job, I will more than have enough spare $$$ to put my Yota in the side yard and use this mustang as my DD once the repairs are made, so that I can save the yota with the low miles and new paint for thrashing trails instead of finding wreckers to get creamed by.

What do you guys think?

I don't know if a mustang would be a good daily driver....... I would think about the speeding ticket and gas to put into that V8.......... it a bitch to restore a car u don't really know what it been though ......... but one thing I think you are going to love is the convertible top........

you will love it man. i love mustangs. im a mustang guy at heart. the best thing is that you can get 25 mpg on the highway if you do it right. are you planning on keeping the 2v? that can be a great car, and you got the right year too.

having worked for a ford dealer in the past, I have rebuilt quite a few mustangs. Not only are they easy to fix, but the parts are dirt cheap. Looking at the pics, I would say it needs a minor pull to the front end, but the rest would be easy. Go for it
