I'm checkin to see if we are going to wheel sunday. I just noticed the 20th isn't a friday, but most everyone (including me) will be showing up early friday the 19th and camping until sunday the 21st. I should hear back by tomorrow.

One of the guys on there is saying that all of the trails at bc are closed. I think he just wants us to go to trask though. Trask wouldn't be too bad. I'm just burnt out on trask. This run wont be cancled, but it might be changed from bc to trask. I realy wish people wouldn't try and change things last minute like this. I'll keep you all updated.

There are alot of trail closures at Brown's but enough are open to have some fun. Also, you could run the forwards and backwards. See my thread from a couple of weeks ago for the current trails that we hit.

I know there are some realy hard trails at Trask. I think that area is prety unexplored, at least by me. I know hop-n-scratch is up there on the difficulty scale, along with tippy. I don't know if those names are the "real" names of those trails, but that's what the people I was with called em.

We aren't changing the meeting spot, but if it turns out that a lot of trails at BC are closed we'll move over to Trask. I personaly think that there will be enough at BC, but we'll see. Trask has always been fun too.

We'll be going to browns. We'll do some trails and see whats open on fri. If we run out of stuff to do at browns, we'll go over to trask. So it might be a little hard to find us sat or sun.

Yea, if it were up to me we'd stick to the original plan. I hate when people change stuff like this, but oh well.

OR97taco, are you going to be able to make it fri?

I can't make it on Friday because of work. If they have a Saturday morning meet spot and time, I'll be there.

Sure. That sounds good. I'm not sure which is Brown's campground. Is it right at the summit? I'll check the map.

I'm not very familiar with browns. The directions I got are, go in the main entrance and turn left at the stop sign.

IIRC (i am going from memory, and its been a while since i came into browns the "normal" way) turn left on to the gravel road off 6 at the ODOT sand pit. this will then T take a right stay on this main road till you hit a stop sign. then take a left and follow that into browns.

I believe your right. I'm looking at the map I have, and the main entrance is just after mile post 33. I'm going to check it out and see exactly how to get to the "browns campgrounds". I'm going to make sure that if anyone comes on sat they will find us.

Went out there after work. It's realy easy to find browns campgrounds. From hwy 6, turn left at "Rogers Camp". At the main entrance theres a sign where it splits, go right (sign says browns -> ). Then just stay on the main road. It'l split, but theres a sign saying browns <-, so go left. There are a few roads that split off, but they are obviously not the main road so dont take them. Just keep going until you see the stop sign and go left into the campgrounds. Just look for my 1st gen blue 4runner with KCs on the bumper and a 4ft antener. I'll be on cb channel 4.

I have a stock rig. Will there be anyone else up there running stock? I just got my truck a few weeks ago and I have never been wheeling so i'm slightly paranoid about doing damage but I wanna get out and get a taste of it. I don't want to be following anyone and end up somewhere I shouldn't be.

I have a 99 tacoma limited TRD

Also, I wouldn't be able to make it out till saturday.

Looks like you have 31 BFGs, and you have a rear locker right? I have 31 ATs , a rear locker (lockright), and no lift. So you should be able to do anything I can and probably more. I think we might split up into two groups, stockers and built rigs. Although I'm not sure if we'l have enough people to do that. We'll see. But I'm sure you'l do fine. I can't promis you wont get any body damage though. You can get body damage on any trail. The guy who owns the site, Peter, has a realy nice/clean 4runner that I doubt he wants to dent/scratch. So I doubt it you'l have to worry about it too bad. I, and everyone else there, will help you whever you need it. Do you have a CB? I have a handheld that I usualy let people barrow, but I'm not sure if I'll have it for this run.

Sat works great. It'l give us time to figure things out fri.

Head count:
pdxtaco - maybe
OR97taco
bigtoysr5 - maybe

Let me know if I missed anyone.

Lots of the trails are starting to open now after the winter closures. There was a work party last weekend that opened the rocky hill climb on Archers. I'm sure several others are, or will be worked on shortly.
