Default Tacoma out, LX450 in

Well the Tacoma is gone and the new project begins!

The SOLD Tacoma...it will be missed.

The completely stock Lexus LX450...for now

The oh so important switch

Slightly more comfort and luxury than the Tacoma

...and a little more room too.

Soon it will have a 4" lift, 34/35" tires, Sliders, Skids, New front bumper, Rear bumper with tire carrier and the li$t goes on...

Nice... can't wait to see that thing go from mall crawler to capable wheeler. Front and Rear factory lockers are nice! Just curious on how come you traded the Taco for the Lexus though?

i'm so jealous. I've wanted an LX450 on 37's ever since I've had my FZJ80! Yeah, my dream LX450 included Slee's 6" kit, sliders, bumpers, ect., 4.88's and the ARB snorkel (and a whole lot more...lol). I figured it up, and not counting the price of the vehicle, I had another $10,000 in parts/labor I'd wanted to invest to make it "mine". That's why I didn't pursue the LX450. I'd go broke....lol

Well...at first. The inside may remain clean but I thing the body panels may come in contact with some trees and granite. It is 4-5 inches wider than the Taco.

Pretty excited about the front and rear lockers. Tried them in a dirt lot near the house and difficult to steer even in the dirt when the front in engaged.

I've always wanted an 80 but they have always been too expensive. Now the newest ones (97) are 10 years old and "affordable." We also recently had our first child and plan on having another in a year or 2 so we will need something that is comfortable for 1-2 kids, camping gear and can tow the tent trailer...and don't forget the dog. All of that is cramped for the Taco. I was also at a point that the only thing I could do to the Taco was SAC or log travel...so why not start a new project.

FZJ 80s and LX 450s are my favorite models of the Land Cruisers. My LX was stock but I miss it. My dad was driving it and some bimbo ran a stop sign and T boned him. Hit him so hard that it spun him around the other way.

Sweet... cant wait to see it progress! Once we have another kid, I'll probably be in the same boat as you, just not sure what I'd do though!

Might not be ready for Rubicon next year. Plus I think I will need some more practice with it first. Darrin and I were thinking about hitting Moab next Sept...plus many day trips around here to the desert and mountains.

Well first it will be nice to wheel something with a SFA. I already get a little more articulation with it stock as I got with the Taco modified and no sway bar.

Then there is always the whole family thing. Will be much easier with the 80.

...and I always need another project to keep me busy...

Forget the whole family thing and go for this:

It's newer than yours but you get the picture.
