So i was told by a mechanic at NTB that my LCA bushings are shot. He showed me how they are dry rotted and put some leverage on them with a crow bar and showed me the slight bit of play the control arms had from side to side. He said this is the problem for my vibrations (steering wheel shakes quite badly) at highway speeds and the wandering back and forth when going down the highway. Given i just had my tires put on 6,000 miles ago, rotated them every 3,000, and just had them rebalanced the other day thinking that that was why i had the steering wheel shimmy. Having them rebalanced made it worse. Thats when i went to NTB and they told me it was my LCA bushings. They quoted me $350 for labor and alignment, but the price of the bushings is seperate. Any of you guys had to replace these? Or know if this sounds like a case of worn out LCA bushings? Thanks, any help is appreciated.
